This game is awesome! I could probably play this forever. I will agree with another comment that this would be great as a mobile game. Nice work!

Thank you very much! We've considered turning it into a mobile game at some point. Our current plan is to remake it as a gameboy game to practice for another jam, but maybe after that we'll circle back around to the mobile idea. Again, thank you so much!!

Nice additions. The game now freezes when you die btw, was that already the case in the previous version?

I probably forgot to reenable the game over screen after testing, thanks!

This is really cool! I like the way it controls, I do get excited and accidentally start ā€˜runningā€™ when Iā€™m just trying to aim, but it only took a few minutes to get the hang of it. I think I confused some of the weapon upgrades and power ups by getting them too close together.  sometimes my grenade launder would rapid fire for a couple of seconds then go back to my normal pistol, but that was kinda fun. I liked the random drops, didnā€™t seem to favour anything in the dozen or so games I played. If I play long enough, will I get to a boss?

There's no boss, but we just updated it with a lot of sound effects that should be better feedback! I'm going to see if I can set the ammo as unlimited while you have the speed powerup enabled.

Played again tonight and the added effects and the items being drawn to you as you get closer is wicked! You could kinda run away from items to keep them following you, then when you were being bombarded you could collect it and let lose! I think my computer is a bit knackered cos when I got to a point with loads of items spawned and loads of bad guys, the game slowed down a lot, but I really think thatā€™s my computer and not the game.

It's definitely the game, I just updated some things to fix lag from all the screen nonsense!

My high score is 1905 so far ;-) Played 6 or 7 rounds now.

I like the game, it responds nicely, plays fluently. However, I do have trouble getting 'into it'. I think I just prefer separate actions for moving and aiming, but also needs some time getting used to I guess.

One question, should the explosions of the 'cap guys' also be lethal? After you destroy them and you move through the explosion of bullets you still die, which I did not expect.

(1 edit)

Thanks for the feedback! We've updated it with lots of sounds and little touches that should make feedback a lot more enjoyable and might help you get into it easier. The controls can definitely take some getting used to though.

edit: Misread this! Yeah, the cap guys are supposed to be explosive enemies, so they spawn bullets when they die. I made their bullets red so hopefully it's more clear.

I'll give it another go. However, what I meant is, when you kill the guy with the cap on, he explodes. I did not expect that it would cause me health, but it did. So I was wondering if that's intended.

OH, the big guy with a cap? Yeah, that's not intended at all. I'll see if I can figure out what's causing that and fix it, thank you!

Whoaaa! This game has surprising complexity so far. I'm not really a mobile game player, but I can waste some time on this for sure. I like how I can move the guy by sliding my finger or tapping the screen to kinda "jump" him around. That was a good addition. I like the ability to trade up weapons and stuff. The music was also catchy!

I Don't know if this is good feedback because I don't play a lot of mobile games, but my finger blocks out my view of mobs when they get close. Would it possible to have a small D pad in a corner so you can leave the screen exposed when things get hot?

Also, what determines how fast the levels go up? I think a little more time before it ramps up would be satisfying and keep people playing longer. Not an excessively long time, but man, those mobs gang up really fast!

My high score is 245 so far.

Haha it's not supposed to be a mobile game, it's definitely designed for desktop. That's a high score though! The level speed is definitely getting tuned, so that's some great feedback, thank you šŸ˜Š
